Expressions of Interest are open

CIAF is thrilled to invite Expressions of Interest (EOI) for the 2018 Art Fair and curated exhibition.

Each year, the Cairns Indigenous Art Fair takes pride of place at the Cairns Cruise Liner Terminal on the waterfront. The Art Fair and curated exhibition, held in Terminal 3, is launched during the Opening Night celebration and runs until the Closing Ceremony. The Art Fair showcases some of the best Queensland Art Centres, local and commercial galleries and independent artist collectives, all exhibiting works by Queensland Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples created within 18 months of CIAF 2018. All eligible works within the Art Fair space will be judged for the CIAF Art Awards.

Within the Art Fair space, a curated exhibition of work from Queensland Indigenous Art Centres is installed each year. The Queensland Indigenous Art Centres and Independent Artists are given a chosen theme to respond to, curated by Hetti Perkins and Janina Harding. The 2018 theme is COUNTRY- an artistic response to the Indigenous notion of connection.

EOI's are open to those who fit into the three categories of Queensland Indigenous Art Centre, Local Gallery and Commercial Gallery/Agent.

Please click on the category that is most appropriate to you and submit your complete EOI online form.
