CIAF 2026 Elders Lounge
Fig Tree (Tank 4), Tanks Arts Centre
Open for First Nations Elders Friday 10 - Sunday 13 July
Hosted by Flashblak: Kerry Klimm
Welcome Blak Home is a space for Elders to feel at home, like they are in their own kitchen, dining room and lounge. A comfortable space to relax, have a cuppa, feed, connect and yarn.
Tea-sets, mugs and tablecloths, throws, cushions, and even an old turntable with Charlie Pride vinyls will be stamped with Flashblak’s signature style of blak love, joy and power.
The space will honour our Elders and bring joy, laughter, pride, and spark memories and conversations.
Welcome Blak Home is a space to say thank you to our Elders, for all they have done and continue to do for the community.
Elders will be encouraged to capture their memories and thoughts in a special book dedicated to the space, which will become a living and ongoing memory keeper for years to come.
