On Country VIP Program with Tony Albert
The CIAF '25 On Country VIP Program is facilitated by internationally recognised First Nations artist, Tony Albert
Hosted by esteemed artist Tony Albert, the CIAF On Country (VIP Program) allows participants to reset, connect, and immerse themselves in the arts, culture, and Country.
Across an immersive itinerary of conversations, site visits, and cultural encounters, guests are introduced to artists—witnessing practice where it originates, shaped by place, history, and Culture.
The CIAF On Country Program VIPs gain exclusive access to the Art Fair Showcase and Artisans Showcase opening preview, culinary experiences with the CIAF Board and exhibitors, and facilitated conversations with artists in studio and gallery contexts.
The program seeks to foster a holistic understanding of arts as a cultural expression by taking participants directly to the artists in intimate settings and/or on Country. VIPs also meet with respected community-based and cultural practitioners and lore-holders whose knowledge has guided artistic practice across generations.
The participation fee ($800 per person (+GST) covers program participation, exclusive events, and complimentary, priority seating to all ticketed events.
To register and secure your place, please complete the registration form by 2 June 2025.

YOUR HOST
Tony Albert
Tony Albert is one of Australia’s foremost contemporary artists with a longstanding interest in the cultural misrepresentation of Aboriginal people. Drawing on both personal and collective histories, his multidisciplinary practice considers the ways in which optimism might be utilised to overcome adversity. He courageously engages in difficult conversations to shed light on problematic histories and current injustices faced by First Nations people.
Albert is acknowledged industry-wide as a valued ambassador for Indigenous community and culture. He was recently announced as the Artistic Director for the 5th National Indigenous Art TrienniaI: After The Rain for the National Gallery of Australia. He is the first First Nations Curatorial Fellow for the Fondation Cartier pour l’art contemporain, the first Indigenous Trustee for the Art Gallery of New South Wales, a member of the Art Gallery of New South Wales Indigenous advisory, a board member for the City of Sydney’s Public Art Panel and member of the Art & Place Board at the Queensland Children’s Hospital and in January 2023 he was awarded an Honorary Doctorate by Griffith University for his significant contribution to the arts.
