UMI Arts Freshwater Saltwater Exhibition is our Blue Chip Exhibition for our seasoned member artists to showcase their talents. These artists have participated in our UMI Arts Exhibition Ready and Members Exhibition programs and the event provides opportunity to expand their horizons and market their creativity as they have graduated to ascertain independent artist status level in their own right.

The title Freshwater Saltwater reflects a metaphorical ideology of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples connection with the freshwater and saltwater environment in Far North Queensland. It is what unites First Nation people and separates them from the rest.

This years exhibition presents a number of new art works from established and professional artists with selected pieces encompassing a wide range of mediums.

The official launch of Freshwater Saltwater is a free event with friends and visitors welcome to attend and enjoy some of the best art from Far North Queensland Indigenous artists. This year’s opening launch will be the 4th July, 2019.

UMI Arts is the artist preferred choice Indigenous arts and cultural organisation for Far North Queensland.
