Since it's inception 13 years ago, the Cairns Indigenous Art Fair (CIAF) has been a platform for establishing and supporting the careers of countless artist and performers. Furthermore, CIAF injects millions of dollars into the local and state-wide economies annually.
Leading into its second year, CIAF's commitment to artistic excellence is expanding, focusing on the careers of those in the arts industry, who work behind the scenes. In 2022 CIAF is launching our second round of intake for applicants wishing to join our team, as part of the CIAF Evolution Project Traineeship.
Supported by the Queensland Government's Department of Employment, Small Business & Training (forming part of the skilling Queenslanders for work initiative), the traineeship will enhance the skills of aspiring and emerging Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander arts workers. Commencing on 14 March, 4 x successful applicants will undertake a 6 month paid traineeship. Successful applicants will learn all facts of skills pertinent to the key departments of CIAF; with their time at CIAF culminating in a Certificate I in Business.
Applications due 14 February, 2022.
Successful applicants will be notified by 28 February, 2022.
