CIAF Announces Health Partnerships

Cairns Indigenous Art Fair (CIAF) has attracted significant interest from the Indigenous and community health sector this year announcing three partnerships promising mutually beneficial outcomes.
In welcoming on board Apunipima Cape York Health Council and Life Without Barriersas well as Cairns Emergency Medical Association (CEMA), back for its second year, CIAF’s General Manager Vanessa Gillen said the event’s all-inclusive nature and philosophies are attractive to community organisations.

Ports North backs new award to capture Queensland’s Indigenous artists’ photographic excellence

Cairns Indigenous Art Fair (CIAF) will expand its annual art awards in 2018 to recognise the powerful medium of photography through a new $5000 prize backed by major partner, Ports North.

This year’s inaugural awards comprised five judging categories (Emerging, Innovation, Art Centre, Premier’s Award for Excellence and People’s Choice) that rewarded Queensland’s best and brightest Indigenous artists who shared in a prize pool of $45,000.

After hitting record highs with attendance figures and art sales for its seventh event in 2016, the success of Cairns Indigenous Art Fair (CIAF) and its partnership with Ports North has been recognised with a win at last night’s 2017 Queensland Reconciliation Awards.

The Queensland Reconciliation Awards program recognises businesses, community organisations, educational institutions and partnerships taking positive steps towards reconciliation across Queensland.
