Artisan Showcase 2027 Application
CIAF invites applications from exhibitors for the 2027 Cairns Indigenous Art Fair Artisan Showcase.
The Artisan Showcase is a curated exhibition celebrating the finest handcrafted works from Queensland’s First Nations artists. This exclusive presentation highlights exceptional craftsmanship, cultural significance, and contemporary design across textiles, ceramics, weaving, jewellery, and functional art pieces.
Bringing together independent artists, artist collectives, and art centres, the showcase provides a platform for artisans to present high-quality, market-ready works to collectors, galleries, and design enthusiasts. Emphasising excellence in technique and innovation in traditional practices, the exhibition reflects the rich storytelling and cultural heritage embedded in each creation.
The Artisans Showcase will be presented in two all-weather pavilions positioned on the promenade outside the Tanks Arts Centre main gate. These fully waterproof and secure structures provide a professional, gallery-style environment, ensuring artworks are displayed at their best while offering a comfortable and protected space for exhibitors and visitors alike.
The Artisans Showcase highlights the strength of Indigenous design, connecting artists with buyers who appreciate the fusion of tradition and contemporary artistry.
