Erub Arts
Erub • Art Centre

About
Erub Arts, located on Darnley Island in the Torres Strait, is a leading not-for-profit Indigenous owned and managed art centre. Internationally recognised for its innovative ghost net sculptures and installation works, the art centre has completed commissions in Europe, Southeast Asia and Australia. As a result, interest in the work created at Erub Arts has increased significantly and future commissions are in development.
Originally a community-based initiative, Erub Arts has grown over the past two decades but retained its focus on intergenerational learning, skills development for artists and business growth. Based in an architecturally designed centre adjacent to the school, artists regularly engage with students and the art centre continues to host artists in residence and deliver a workshop program aimed at engaging new artists and honing the artistic practice of current members.
