About

Kuku Bulkaway is an Indigenous-owned gallery located in Cooktown and run by the Yuku Baja Muliku people of the Archer Point area. Originally established as a program to support Indigenous Rangers and promote wellbeing, it also provided a dedicated space for Indigenous artists in the Cooktown region to exhibit and sell their work. The initiative has since expanded to include a workshop program, offering opportunities for artists to develop and share stories, culture, and connections to Country.

Artists working through Kuku Bulkaway produce a range of works including ceramics, textiles, paintings, weavings, jewellery, and other contemporary and traditional forms. Artists represent Yuku Baja Muliku, Kuku Yalanji, Kuku Warra, Olkola, and Gugu Yimithirr peoples.
