About

Moa Arts, known as Ngalmun Lagau Minaral, meaning “our island’s design”, is an Indigenous-owned and operated art centre on Mua Island in the western cluster of Zenadth Kes (the Torres Strait). The centre supports and celebrates the continuation of Mualgal traditions and Zenadth Kes arts and culture through contemporary artistic practice.

Creative inspiration for the work of Moa Arts artists comes from Mualgal ancestral stories, totemic representations, and enduring connections to sea, land, sky, and family. Through their practice, the artists strengthen cultural knowledge, honour tradition, and share the rich artistic heritage of Zenadth Kes with broader audiences.
