Artist Statement

Tarquin’s star represents culture and guidance. For thousands of years Indigenous peoples all around the world use stars to help them understand, guide and navigate through the world around them. Stars can be used as maps, calendars, symbols and reminders of historical events.

With overlapping patterns at the centre of the star representing built up knowledge at the core, then branching out to give room and space to invite others to add their own stories to pass on to next generations.
